Suzuki Studio Åkarp is run by Rachel Wieser who offers expert
violin lessons for children according to the Suzuki method.



Benefits of the Suzuki method include improved concentration, memorisation, self awareness and sensitivity towards other people.
About Rachel
Rachel grew up in Liechtenstein and started playing the violin at the age of 5.
She graduated with a Master’s degree in Performance and Pedagogy from the University of the Arts in Bern, Switzerland, and holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Performance from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London, UK. Deeply passionate about teaching, Rachel became a certified Suzuki teacher, having successfully completed all levels up to Level 5.
Rachel has many years of experience as a violin teacher in Switzerland and Sweden. She currently teaches violin at Hyllie Park Folkhögskolan in Malmö, as well as at the SUZUKI STUDIO ÅKARP, where she teaches individual as well as group lessons for children from 3 years up to teenagers. Since 2022 she has also been directing the International Children's Music School in Switzerland which offers Suzuki-based summer courses for children.


As a performer, Rachel regularly engages in diverse musical setups. She has collaborated with symphony orchestras from Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, the UK, and Sweden, performing under the baton of esteemed conductors such as Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Sir Colin Davis, Lawrence Foster, Vasily Petrenko, James Gaffigan, David Angus, Paul Daniel, Paolo Olmi, Sian Edwards, Stefan Sanderling, Florian Krumpöck, James MacMillan, Kevin Griffiths, Yaron Traub, Sebastian Lang-Lessing, Peter Stark, Mei-Ann Chen, Peter Nordahl, and Martyn Brabbins. Throughout her career, she has played with renowned soloists, including Lang Lang, Rolando Villazón, Sabine Meyer, Radovan Vlatković, Lars Vogt, Anje Weithaas, Maximilian Hornung, Lars Danielsson and David Garrett.
Rachel is a member of the Liechtenstein Symphony Orchestra and serves as the solo violinist for JAZZLOUNG1920, a jazz band specializing in 1920s jazz.
In addition Rachel has actively participated in various musical theater productions as a musician, actress, and producer, and she has conducted a women’s choir for several years.
